Vehicle crash lands on parked car in North Versailles

Two vehicles were significantly damaged early Wednesday morning during a crash in North Versailles.

A vehicle crashed and flipped onto a parked car near the 3200 block of Fifth Avenue shortly after 3 a.m., according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.


Downed power lines ignite fire on Greenfield home

A fire broke out Tuesday after active power lines fell on a Greenfield home.

Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire crews were dispatched to the home, located on the 4300 block of Kish Way, around 1:30 p.m. Fire crews located the downed power lines and a fire behind the house’s kitchen stove, which was quickly extinguished, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries after receiving an electric shock while opening the kitchen window to ventilate smoke out of the structure. A medic evaluated the firefighter at the scene. No further medical treatment was required, Pittsburgh Public Safety said.

While waiting for Duquesne Light to arrive and address the power lines, another fire broke through the roof of the residence. Fire crews put out the flame, and Duquesne Light arrived.

No residents were injured.


Pedestrian struck in vehicle crash on Parkway West

A vehicle traveling on the Parkway West near Findlay Township spun out of control Saturday afternoon, hitting a police vehicle, which then struck a pedestrian.

Pennsylvania State Police said Ryan Burcham, 47, of Carnegie was driving in the left westbound lane on Interstate 376 at a safe speed when he lost control of his vehicle on wet, slushy roads.

The vehicle, which had a 17-year-old unnamed female passenger, crossed over the middle and right lane in a clockwise spin before hitting a police vehicle parked on the northern shoulder of the roadway. Burcham’s vehicle struck an embankment and came to rest.

The police vehicle spun clockwise and struck a pedestrian, Kurt Halbedl, 65, of Imperial, located along the northern shoulder at the time of the crash. He sustained minor injuries in his left rib area, police said.

Burcham’s vehicle and the patrol car sustained disabling damage, police said. A third vehicle parked on the northern shoulder sustained minor damage after Burcham’s vehicle came into contact with it.


State police search for missing man

Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a man who has been missing since Jan. 2.

Jason Sage, 31, may be seen in his black 2007 Ford Mustang convertible. He is 6-foot-2, about 225 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can contact 724-832-3288 to reach the Greensburg state police barracks.
