The North Hills Regional Catholic Elementary Schools (NHRCES) was recently recognized for their outstanding work fostering Catholic identity at the prestigious National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) convention.

William H. Sadlier, INC., and the Diocese of Pittsburgh recognized the NHRCES for shaping Catholic identity in the schools' life, faith, and mission through various ministries of Catholic education. The award was presented on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, during the NCEA convention themed "Together in Pittsburgh: Connections, Commitments, Community," which brought together educators from across the US, Canada, and beyond.

NHRCES faculty members actively participated in sessions on various topics, including:

  • Building strong connections within the community
  • Centering Education in Christ
  • Leading with vision and purpose
  • Achieving excellence in Catholic education
  • Serving all students inclusively
  • Preparing students for a successful future

NCEA 2024, one of the largest private education association gatherings in the nation, is held in partnership with the Diocese of Pittsburgh. This unique event offers professional development sessions, networking opportunities with educators across North America, exhibitor showcases featuring the latest educational resources, and technology and inspiring liturgies and special events.

At the NCEA convention, NHRCES Regional Superintendent Michael Killmeyer played a pivotal role in accepting the award on behalf of the NHRCES. His presence alongside Most Reverend Bishop David Zubik underscored the school system's commitment to Catholic education and its dedication to fostering a strong Catholic identity.
