Three people were injured following a crash early Monday on McKnight Road in Ross.
The incident, which involved a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus and a box truck, happened just before 6 a.m. in the lanes approaching the Parkway North. Those inbound lanes were shut down for about two hours, detouring morning commuters.
PRT spokesman Adam Brandolph said a private vehicle rear-ended the PRT McKnight Flyer that was stopped and releasing passengers near the InTown Suites hotel in the 4500 block of McKnight near Nelson Run Road.
Brandolph said the driver of the private vehicle was extracted from the vehicle and taken to Allegheny General and was in critical condition. While Brandolph couldn’t confirm it, images from the scene show the vehicle to be a box truck.
Two of the eight passengers on the bus suffered minor neck and head pain and were transported to Allegheny General Hospital, Brandolph said.
Outbound lanes were not affected by the crash.
