Penn Hills High School students Mary Cooper, Maria Hernandez and Sydney Smith received the Women in Science Award and a full scholarship to Seton Hill University. The Women in Science Day was held Dec. 20 at the university. The annual event is held to honor high school students who are passionate about science to highlight the many career opportunities available to women in those fields. The trio was nominated by their math and science teachers.

These students were named to the dean’s list at Pennsylvania Western University for the fall 2024 semester: David Queen-Walter, Jaeda Myers, Cassidy Byrnes, Madeline DiDomenico, Alexander Skopp, Terrell Burnett and Darryle Carpenter, who study at the California Campus; Aniyah Wynn, Diamond McCallum, Destiny Kirby and Michael Lintelman, who study at the Clarion Campus; Samantha Cooper, Lia Arias Escalante, Benjamin Smider and Chrysanthos Alexander, who study at the Edinboro Campus; and Aniyah Thompkins, who studies at the Global Online Campus.

Jordyn Ingelido was named to the dean’s list at Alvernia University for the fall 2024 semester.

• Sage Warner performed with the University of Mount Union Concert Choir and Cantus during its 2024 Winter Festival in early December.

Christopher Salemi was named to the dean’s list for the 2024 summer trimester at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Fla.

Domnique Thompson was named to the online dean’s list for the second term of the 2024-25 academic year at Husson University.

Jasmine Bunch, Gabrielle Burkovich, Mackenzie Byrnes, Ella Epps, Kaya Frazier-Regus, Joseph Gamza, Michelle Gay, Christelle Makiese, Lucas Pugliese and Ava Robbins were named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University for the fall 2024 semester.
