Local lawmakers, including state Rep. Joe McAndrew, D-Penn Hills, and members of the Pennsylvania House Appropriations Committee are planning a briefing Monday, April 28, regarding how Gov. Josh Shapiro’s proposed $51.5 billion 2025-26 state budget will benefit communities across Allegheny County.
The briefing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rep. Anthony M. DeLuca Room at Penn Hills Library, 1037 Stotler Road.
The gathering is one of several that Democrats have been presenting across the state.
Members of the Appropriations Committee will provide information on how state budget dollars are impacting local communities.
The briefing will be followed by a question-and-answer period for members of the public.
In addition to McAndrew, state representatives in attendance will include Jordan Harris, D-Philadelphia, chair of the House Appropriations Committee; Aerion A. Abney, D-Manchester, a House Appropriations Committee member; and members of the Allegheny County House Democratic Delegation.
