Idlewild and SoakZone in Ligonier Township will be closed on Wednesdays for the rest of the summer.

The amusement park’s online calendar indicates closures every Wednesday through July and August. The park did not respond to requests for comment left Thursday afternoon.

Kennywood Park in West Mifflin will be closed on Tuesdays, beginning next week, for the remainder of the summer season, according to its website.

Kennywood also closed during the latter months of the summer on Mondays and Tuesdays in 2020.

Most rides at Idlewild open at 10:30 a.m. in July and August, but kiddie rides open at 11 a.m. The park will close at 7 p.m., but it will stay open until 8 p.m. on Saturdays in July. SoakZone is open 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Storybook Forest is open 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Exceptions to this schedule can be found on Idlewild’s website.

Idlewild also is resuming its annual Neighbor Days series, which will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the end of the month.

During Neighbor Days, visitors can meet characters from a variety of children’s shows, including “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” and “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood,” and participate in related theme activities.
