On Saturday, March 5, 2022, six teams from Hampton Township School District represented Central Elementary, Poff Elementary, Wyland Elementary, and Hampton Middle School at the Odyssey of the Mind Western Pennsylvania Regional Tournament at Keystone Oaks Middle School/High School. The students, in grades K-8, solved long-term and spontaneous problems and presented their solutions in a creative performance at the tournament. A seventh combined elementary school team will be participating in the upcoming virtual World tournament on March 13-18. A Wyland Elementary team in the balsa structure building problem category placed third in their division and a Hampton Middle School balsa structure building team placed first in their division. Both teams will represent the Hampton Township School District at the Odyssey of the Mind state tournament on April 2, 2022 at Lock Haven University. The Wyland team were 5th graders Andrew Allen, Ella Gannon Lavigne, Jack Leyenaar, Will Marcus, Nicholas Radomski, Simon Troup, and Brecken Turcsanyi. The Hampton Middle School team were 7th graders Olivia Dietz, Ashlee Marte, and Luciano Santos, and 8th graders Jared Brinzer, Braden Krysinski, Ashley Rothenberg, and Teagan Turcsanyi.
