Jim passed away at Latrobe Area Hospital on August 23, 2024. He joins his wife and love of his life; Angeline (Ange) (Janovich) Gamble whom he cared for at home for many years till her passing. Born July 4, 1939, in Ligonier Twp, Westmoreland County the son of the late Vernice Mae (McElwee) and Walter Gamble, Sr. Also preceded in death Sister-in-law Pearl Janovich and dear friend Holly Miller. He leaves behind sister, Patricia Craver, Aunt Donna Carnes, nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends Stuart Matson (Stu), Lynn Johnson, Suzanne Pahach and Father Frank Miloro, and host of cherished friends. Jim served our country as a proud veteran of the US Army. He retired from D-M-E in Youngwood, PA. He worked hard all his life, a bit of a perfectionist and always a gentleman. He had a smile that could make a bad day seem right and the twinkle in his eye that radiated from his very soul. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, a good meal and a cold beer. Jim kept active up to his ALS diagnosis in late 2022 which slowly consumed his body and played havoc on his spirit. Though the twinkle in his eyes dimmed during the last few months of his life, Jim's smile could still make a bad day right. He was a member of the Bolivar American Legion, belonged to the Church St. Johns Orthodox Church, Wilpen, PA. Family and Friends will be received at the Snyder-Green Funeral Home located at 402 E Church St, Ligonier, PA 15658 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Panachida Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Church Service Thursday, August 29, 2024, 9:30 a.m. at St. Johns Orthodox Church in Wilpen PA.
