The Oh What Fun Christmas celebration for the whole family is set for Dec. 9. There will be crafts, interactive games, pictures with Santa and the Christmas story told in an exciting new way through the Candy Cane Adventure. Registration is open.

A Christmas Eve communion service will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 20, as well as 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Dec. 24. Childcare is available for infants through preschool-aged children.

The Christmas Day communion service will be a traditional service at 10 a.m. Dec. 25. No childcare or kids’ programming is available.

A traditional Sunday service will take place at 9 a.m. Dec. 31. A modern service will be held at 11:15 a.m. A kids’ pajama party will ring in the new year — wear your favorite pajamas.

North Way Sewickley Valley is a family-friendly Christian community offering services at 9:15 and 11 a.m. each Sunday. Kids Church is available at both services for children from birth to fifth grade. Autism Ministry support is also available for children from preschool to eighth grade with pre-­registration.

Sewickley United Methodist Church

The Sewickley United Methodist Church has two services each Sunday: 9 a.m. contemporary, featuring our praise band Leap of Faith; and 11 a.m. traditional, with nursery care and children’s ministries during both services. The church is a reconciling congregation and openly welcomes all people.

St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sundays, and 6 p.m. Wednesdays. The Sunday 10 o’clock service is also livestreamed on YouTube. Sunday School and nursery coverage are available for children at the 10 a.m. service. A Children’s Service is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at 10 a.m. in which young members actively participate in various aspects of the liturgy.

The church’s Adopt-a-Highway chapter will perform its fourth roadside cleanup of the year on Dec. 9. Volunteers will meet at the church at 8:30 a.m. and carpool to the site, the Camp Horne Road interchange of I-279 in Ohio Twp. Anyone age 14 and up may take part.

This year’s Christmas Pageant will take place Dec. 17 at the 10 a.m. service. All children and teens are invited to participate. Rehearsal and costume fittings are set for Dec. 16, between 10 a.m. and noon.

On Dec. 24, the Fourth Sunday of Advent, the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services will be replaced by one at 9 a.m. The Christmas Eve service will occur at 7 p.m. There will be no service on Christmas Day.

The Modern Episcopalians group, which explores the history, faith and worship of the church, meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. via Zoom. The group is reading and discussing the book “Welcome to the Episcopal Church” by Christopher L. Webber.

Conversation classes for English as a Second Language adults are underway. Two levels are being offered via Zoom on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and on Wednesday evenings. New students are invited to participate and new volunteers are always welcome, no experience is necessary.

Morning Prayer is offered at 8 a.m., Monday through Friday, via Zoom. Bible Study is held at 11 a.m. Tuesdays via Zoom. Please contact the office for links.

Welcome the season with a concert of Advent music at 4 p.m. Dec. 10. St. Paul’s music director Agoston Solczi will present Advent hymns and other sacred music on the organ and piano. Joining him will be Michael Hammer, choir director and organist at Sewickley Presbyterian Church, the Sewickley United Methodist Church Clock Tower Ringers, and other featured musicians. Admission to the concert is free and all are welcome. A cookie and punch reception will be held afterward.

For those who need a little extra support this holiday season, you are invited to the Longest Night Service on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. This candlelit service gives space to remember those we’ve lost.

Christmas Eve services will be held at 5 and 8 p.m. in the sanctuary. Both will include candlelight and the 8 p.m. service will observe the Lord’s Supper.

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church
