Trib Total Media’s coverage of a variety of topics — including Roberto Clemente, the 20th anniversary of the Quecreek mine rescue and cultural organizations’ efforts to rebuild after the pandemic — has earned the news organization 26 nominations for the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s Golden Quill Awards.

The Golden Quills each year honors dozens of journalists and news outlets in the region for expert storytelling and accountability work.

This year’s winners will be announced during the annual Golden Quills dinner on May 30 at Rivers Casino.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Press Club for this recognition,” Trib Total Media Executive Editor Luis Fabregas said. “I am so proud of our team of journalists and the great work they produce for our readers day after day.”

Trib Total Media last year earned 24 nominations. The Tribune-Review won a best-of-show award last year, and Trib Total Media President and CEO Jennifer Bertetto was honored with a Service to Journalism Award.

This year, Trib Total Media earned the following nominations in the Excellence in Written Journalism — Division 1 category:
