Job fair planned at NK Salvation Army

A Pennsylvania CareerLink job fair will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the New Kensington Salvation Army, 255 Third St.

Local food shuttle available in NK, Arnold and Lower Burrell Manor

The Fresh Food Shuttle sponsored by the New Kensington Downtown Partnership and Wesley Family Services operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for residents of New Kensington, Arnold and Lower Burrell Manor.

Residents can be picked up at their homes and be taken to Golden Dawn, Giant Eagle, Animal Protectors Food Bank and Aldi, all in New Kensington, and Walmart and Aldi, both in Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer.

Shoe collection to benefit local animal rescue

TinyCause Rescue in Vandergrift is conducting a shoe collection through Nov. 30.

Gently used shoes for donation should be placed into bags and dropped off on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays or during regular hours at the rescue, 131 Columbia Ave. Do not put shoes in shoe boxes. No roller blades or ice skates can be accepted.
