When it comes to wrestling at Army, Ethan Berginc is one good soldier.

Berginc, a Jeannette native who wrestled at Hempfield via a co-operative agreement, is on a roll eary in his junior season. Far from his days as a plebe, Berginc won back-to-back titles at 133 pounds, the second coming at the Black Knight Invitational.

The No. 1 seed, Berginc went 4-0, defeating Kysion Garcia of Penn State (11-5), Andrew Hampton of Michigan State (10-1) and Boris Witmer of Columbia (injury default).

Army finished second overall behind Penn State, which won the other nine individual titles.

Berginc won a title earlier in the season at the Princeton Open.

Wrestling

Edinboro: Colton Camacho (Franklin Regional) took fifth place at the Keystone Classic at Penn. The 133-pounder is a grad student who previously wrestled at Pitt.

Seton Hill: Freshman Don Lindsey was named the PSAC Wrestler of the Week. He went 3-0 in three matches, and finished 2-0 at the Seton Hill Duals.

Football

Grove City: Junior linebacker Jack Jollie (Penn-Trafford) and junior offensive tackle Luke Jollie (Penn-Trafford) were named to the All-PAC Second Team. Jack Jollie made 63 tackles from middle linebacker, adding 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. A first-year starter, Luke Jollie started eight games at right tackle and two at left tackle.

No. 12 Grove City (9-1) visits Johns Hopkins Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Junior running back Ian Demeri (Penn-Trafford) helped the Wolverines to a 36-9 win over Westminster to secure the PAC title as he rushed for a career-high 163 yards and three touchdowns. He had an 88-yard run to set up a score.

Washington & Jefferson: Senior Zach Cernuto (Southmoreland) and grad linebacker Justin Johns (Franklin Regional) were named to the All-PAC first team. Cernuto, a tight end and H-back, has posted career highs in receiving yards (286), receiving touchdowns (6), and receptions (36). He had a career-high 14-reception game earlier in the season against Case Western Reserve. Johns became W&J’s all-time leader in tackles, reaching 350 career stops. He finished the PAC season with 84 tackles, nine for loss.

The Presidents (9-1) will travel to play Randolph-Macon in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs Saturday.

Waynesburg: Junior offensive lineman Jacob Brisky (Latrobe) was named to the All-PAC second team.

William & Mary: Senior safety Marcus Barnes (Jeannette) was named to the All-CAA second team. Barnes tied for first nationally with four interceptions, and also had 11 passes defended, 69 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Women’s basketball

Bethany: Sophomore forward Kate Botti (Norwin) poured in a career-high 25 points as the Bison ripped past Waynesburg, 99-77.

Gannon: Sophomore guard Olivia Cernuto (Southmoreland) had eight points, three assists and three steals off the bench as Gannon downed East Stroudsburg, 60-47.

Mercyhurst: Junior Bailey Kuhns (Greensburg Central Catholic) was named a Northeast Conference Prime Performer after the forward had 22 points against Youngstown State.

Pitt-Greensburg: New coach Juli Bolden earned her first win with the Bobcats in an 85-71 win against Penn State Beaver. Junior Tiana Moracco (Derry) recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds, and sophomore Sarah Penrod (Franklin Regional) also scored 23 for the Bobcats (1-4). Junior Trinity Lockwood-Morris had 18 rebounds, and freshman Jocelyn Bielak added 10 assists in the win.

Seton Hill: A blazing start has the Griffins (6-0) in the Division II national rankings. Seton Hill checked in this week at No. 25 in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 poll. The Griffins also were tied for third in the most recent D2CSC Atlantic Regional poll.

Grad student Christiane Frye had 20 points and six assists, and junior Hallie Cowan didn’t miss a shot (6 for 6) as she scored 18 in a 101-75 win over Shippensburg. Frye recently was named the PSAC West Player of the Week.

Men’s basketball

Seton Hill: Sophomore Kedrick Curtis had 22 points and 13 rebounds, freshman Gage Lattimore added 13 points and grad student Ryan Meis, who recently scored his 1,000th career point, added 10 as the Griffins (6-2) defeated backyard opponent Pitt-Greensburg, 84-62. Gage and Meis each had seven assists.

Junior Matthew Marinchak (Ligonier Valley) led UPG with 22 points, and junior Jackson Byer added 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Women’s swimming

Penn State Behrend: Sophomore Camryn Watters (Hempfield) was named the AMCC Swimmer of the Week. Watters broke four program records, including two wins, as the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational. She won the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes.

Saint Vincent: Senior Abby Leskovnsky was named the PAC Swimmer of the Week. She had five top 3 finishes, including a win and a school record, at the Malone Invitational. She broke an SVC record in the preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle in 52.61 seconds, before finishing second in the event. Leskovnsky won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.06 seconds, and helped three relays to third-place finishes.

Men’s swimming

Saint Vincent: Junior Jacob Dzurica was named the PAC Swimmer of the Week. Dzurica, who won the award for the fourth time this season, earned 91 points at the Malone Invitational, winning two events. He took first in the 50-yard freestyle (20.38) and 100-yard freestyle (45.48).

Washington & Jefferson: Sophomore Nathaniel Harden (Hempfield) finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:23.34 at the Malone Invitational.

Women’s volleyball

Carlow: Junior outside hitter Rebecca Hess (Greensburg Central Catholic) was named to the USCAA All-American First Team. Hess led the Celtics with 351 digs and kills with 281, the latter total ranking fourth in the USCAA. Her 3.90 digs per set ranked third in the nation.

Saint Vincent: Senior setter Vivian Poach and senior libero Stacie Ramos were named to the All-PAC First Team. Teammate Kaelyn Staples-Klasnic, a senior hitter, made the second team.

Thiel: Sophomore middle hitter Arin DeLattre (Hempfield) was named to the All-PAC Second Team.

Men’s soccer

Seton Hill: Freshman Nils Heinrich was named to the D2CCA All-Atlantic Region second team. The PSAC West Freshman of the Year led the Griffins on goals (8), assists (9) and points (25).

Women’s soccer

Carlow: Junior Jenna McGuinness (Norwin) was named to the All-AMCC Third Team after leading the team with seven goals.
