It’s getting closer to wrapping up 2024, but there are still several big concerts in Pittsburgh to close out the year. Here’s a look at some of the top shows coming to the area in December:

Top concerts

Dec. 11: Mariah Carey at PPG Paints Arena

As soon as the calendar is flipped to November, it’s holiday time for Mariah Carey.

The Queen of Christmas is back for another year of holiday concerts on her Christmas Time tour, where the top-selling “All I Want for Christmas is You” is sure to be on the agenda.

“I can feel your joy,” she told fans at a recent Phoenix concert, according to azcentral.com. “It’s what the world needs.”

Dec. 11: Kansas at Benedum Center

The progressive rock group Kansas started their Another Fork in the Road 50th anniversary tour last year in Pittsburgh, and they’ll close it here, too.

With songs like “Carry on Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind,” the classic rockers are revisiting tracks that might not have received as much attention in the past.

“We’ve been (on this tour) for a year now and it’s still fun to play every night,” guitarist Rich Williams told theaquarian.com. “Sometimes the song sits for a while, so when you pull it off the shelf and dust it off and relearn it, it becomes very fresh again. Right now, those are my favorite songs that we’re doing.”

Dec. 14: Justin Timberlake at PPG Paints Arena

Pop singer Justin Timberlake, a consummate showman from his time in NSNYC to his solo career, brings his Forget Tomorrow tour to Pittsburgh.

Timberlake, who made headlines earlier this year after taking a plea deal in a DWI case in Long Island, released his sixth solo album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” in March.

“I worked for a long time on this album and I ended up with 100 songs,” Timberlake told Billboard. “So narrowing them down to 18 was a thing, and then, yeah, I’m really excited about this album. I think every artist probably says this, but it is my best work.”
