The former Sharpsburg High School, an enormous red brick building along Linden Street, served the borough for decades.
It sat along Linden Street, marked by white columns and ornate windows.
The district merged in 1970 with Fox Chapel Area, sending students to a new school along Field Club Road in O’Hara.
Today, the building serves as home to the Watson Institute’s special education school, which offers the inclusive LEAP Preschool program for children with autism and their typically developing peers.
Watson’s Sharpsburg location is also home to a program designed to help students with high-functioning autism complete school using online courses.
