I’m sure many conservatives have come to the conclusion their representatives capitulated to the conservative political agenda decades ago. Conservatives failed after the Wilson, Roosevelt, LBJ ’60s and Obama-Biden eras. Conservative pushback was limited at best.

However, Republicans put forth the old college try every November, appealing to the electorate to accept conservatism. It is obvious the Republicans have officially “thrown in the conservative towel.”

This Republican administration seems to have no use for constitutional law. The lawful and proper way to reduce the size of government is present your conservative principles to the electorate to achieve enough votes to pass a conservative agenda. Once elected, pass legislation to eliminate or reduce each department no longer desired. It’s not rocket science.

Currently, the conservative movement has the Supreme Court, president, House and Senate, but for some reason they embrace theater to reduce the size of government, not lawful legislation. I am sure many Republicans enjoy the theatrical cruelty of stranding a USAID employee in Ukraine or ending the feeding of refugees in Africa. Maybe the FAA radar maintenance worker out of a job.

Yes, vindication finally, but these fellow Americans did not create the oversized federal bureaucracy. Elon Musk is setting a precedent for a future Democratic administration. He is not impacting the size of government to any significance.

The abuse is the defense contracting system and those billing the Medicare/Medicaid system. It is not the nursing home resident or the soldiers defending our country at fault.

It is now clear the conservative movement has concluded passing “viable” legislation is no longer possible.
