Jarrod Golden went 2 for 3 with a triple as Mars held on to defeat Peters Township, 7-6, in Section 2-5A baseball Friday night.
Max Thomas drove in three runs for the Tigers (2-4, 2-1). James Tygard went 3 for 5 with a double and two RBIs and Colin Stofik tripled for Peters Township (4-1), which closed a 7-2 deficit to one run by scoring twice in the sixth and twice more in the seventh. Moon’s Chris Sandor got the final out with two on in the seventh.
Chartiers Valley 9, Hopewell 1 – Colton Prosperi went 2 for 2 and Jake Federouch drove in two runs for Chartiers Valley (4-3) in a nonsection win over Hopewell (0-5).
Indiana 9, Beaver 3 – Ethan Shank went 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs, Sullivan Vanhoose doubled and drove in two runs and Charlie Manzi doubled to lead Indiana (3-0) to a nonsection win. Derek Hughes hit two singles for Beaver (4-1).
Obama Academy 21, Perry Traditional Academy 0 – Clark Ehman went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Elijah Rawlings went 4 for 4 with three runs and Caleb Myers hit two doubles and drove in three runs to lead Obama Academy (3-1, 1-0) to a City League win over Perry Traditional Academy (0-2, 0-2).
Revere (Ohio) 11, West Greene 2 – Liam Gartland went 3 for 3 with an RBI to lead Revere (Ohio) to a nonsection win. Dylan Hughes drove in a run for West Greene (0-4).
Shady Side Academy 13, Penn Hills 3 – Charlie Wanless went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs and Ben Clendenning-Kim tripled and drove in two runs to lead Shady Side Academy (1-3) to a nonsection win over Penn Hills (0-5). Soren Cooper doubled and drove in two runs and Brian Firman doubled for the Bulldogs.

Avonworth 14, Mayfield (Ohio) 3 – Sydney Savatt went 4 for 5 with a double, home run and five RBIs and Reese Long went 3 for 3 with a triple and four RBIs to lead Avonworth (3-0) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Ella Garrett hit a home run for Mayfield (Ohio). Linnea Zmuda hit a double and home run for the Antelopes.
Baldwin 21, Peters Township 2 – Camryn Temme hit a double, triple and drove in five runs, Jordan Gerendash hit three doubles and Ryley Shaw and Reese Temme doubled and drove in three runs apiece to lead Baldwin (5-1, 1-0) to a Section 4-5A win. Makenzie Morgan hit a two-run homer for Peters Township (2-3, 0-1).
Chartiers-Houston 6, Columbiana (Ohio) 3 – Meadow Ferri struck out 15, walked two and allowed only four hits in seven innings for Chartiers-Houston (5-0) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.. Caitlynn Pleska went 2 for 2 with a triple for Columbiana (Ohio). Ella Richey went 3 for 4 with a double and Lauren Rush doubled for the Buccaneers.
Hopewell 14, Central Valley 8 – Kara Barkovich and Victoria Mann hit two home runs apiece and Tallulah Showrank hit a double and home run to lead Hopewell (3-2) to a nonsection win. Aubrey Grater hit a grand slam for Central Valley (2-1).
Knoch 11, Kiski Area 0 – Marlee Fraser threw a six-inning three-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Knoch (3-1) to a nonsection win. Kyla Hutcherson doubled for Kiski Area (0-3). Emersyn Jones tripled and drove in two runs and Grace Hensch and Lizzie Danik hit a double apiece for the Knights.
Latrobe 10, Mt. Pleasant 0 – Mya McHugh threw a five-inning four-hitter and struck out four for Latrobe (3-2) in a nonsection win over Mt. Pleasant (2-2). McHugh also went 3 for 3 with a double and RBI. Julianna Bulebosh drove in three runs and Sarah Blossey drove in two runs for the Wildcats.
Marion Center 14, Indiana 4 – Natalie Black and Kaily Anderson hit a home run apiece for Marion Center in a nonsection win. Rylin Blystone and Hannah Ianarelli hit a double apiece for Indiana (1-3).
New Brighton 21, Rochester 4 – Sundi Fazio and Jaelin Hewitt drove in three runs apiece for New Brighton (1-2) in a nonsection win. Emily Weese doubled and drove in two runs for Rochester (1-3). Julia Boffo and Elise Gerrich also drove in two runs apiece for the Lions.
OLSH 4, Ursuline (Ohio) 3 – Mya Eshenbaugh went 2 for 2 with a triple for OLSH (3-3) in a win at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
West Allegheny 6, Howland (Ohio) 1 – Autumn Bielecki struck out six and allowed only three hits in seven innings for West Allegheny (3-2) at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Bielecki went 2 for 3 with a double. Ava Henke went 3 for 4 and Ava Benish drove in a run for the Indians.
West Allegheny 1, Manchester (Ohio) 0 – Ava Henke hit a home run to lead West Allegheny (3-2) past Manchester (Ohio) at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Winning pitcher Autumn Bielecki struck out six and allowed three hits for the Indians.

Burrell 2, Jackson (Wyo.) 0 – Michael Morascyz scored a pair of goals and Kooper Price made 14 saves as Burrell defeated Jackson (Wyo.) in the finale of pool play in High School Division 1A at the USA Hockey National Championships in Irvine, Calif. Jacob Rose assisted Morascyzk’s first-period goal and Jared Wall set up his goal in the third period. Burrell tied with two other teams for the top spot in its pool with a 2-1 record but lost out on a tiebreaker and did not advance to the playoffs.
Girls lacrosse
Butler 16, Knoch 8 – Taryn Hilovsky scored five goals to lead Butler past Knoch in a nonsection win.
Plum 17, Latrobe 4 – Ella Pedley scored four goals, Natalie Wagner, Carly Venanzi and Olivia Iachini added three goals each and Malayna Smith made 13 saves to lead Plum to a Section 1-3A victory.
