Teen charged with robbing delivery driver
Pittsburgh Police arrested a teenager Thursday, charging him with assaulting a pizza delivery driver earlier this week in the city’s Elliott neighborhood.
Police said Nae’Pear Clark, 16, of Pittsburgh was charged with aggravated assault, robbery, conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a minor.
Police said Clark and another person approached the driver around 1 a.m. on Wymore Street, pistol-whipping him and taking his cell phone and wallet.
The driver reported the incident while being treated at a local hospital.
Clark was transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
An April 11 preliminary hearing is set in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.
Hempfield crash sends 1 to hospital
One person was transported to the hospital following a crash Friday evening in Hempfield.
TribLive news partner WTAE reports the crash happened along Brush Creek Road, as a car left the road and traveled over the guardrail, coming to rest on its side.
Police are investigating.
North Park run affects traffic
Organizers for the annual “Just a Short Run” at North Park on Saturday morning in McCandless are expecting a large turnout and police are advising drivers who will pass through the area.
Traffic changes go into effect at 7 a.m. Pearce Mill Road, Kummer Road between McKinney and Brown roads, Lake Shore Drive and Walter Road will all have periodic stoppages and delays during the event.
The race kicks off at 8:30 a.m.
Police advised drivers to use caution as they travel through the park.
