Sewickley United Methodist Church has two services each Sunday: 9 a.m. contemporary, featuring our praise band Leap of Faith; and 11 a.m. traditional, with nursery care and children’s ministries during both services.

The United Women in Faith will host a Sale for Missions on May 9 from 3-7 p.m. and on May 10 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Previously owned treasures, including household items, seasonal clothing, shoes, books, puzzles and much more, will be available. Enter through door 10 from the Thorn Street driveway. All proceeds from the sale are used to fund local, national and international United Women in Faith mission projects.
St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sundays and 6 p.m. Wednesdays. Nursery coverage is available for children at the Sunday 10 o’clock service, which is livestreamed on YouTube.
The church holds a monthly Children’s Service at 10 a.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month, inviting young members to take part by reading and serving during the liturgy. The next Children’s Service will take place April 27.

St. Brendan’s next Mask-Up Sunday will be May 4, when everyone at the 10 a.m. service will be asked to wear a mask. This monthly courtesy provides extra protection so that members with health concerns can worship in person.
The Justice Ministry is sponsoring a Lenten project to help the homeless. Members may pick up a calendar in the church lobby that lists a daily item or service that homeless people can’t access, i.e., a doctor’s visit, a shower or a home-cooked meal. The calendar then requests a small donation — 25 cents to $1 — for the day if the parishioner has those items. The money collected will go to Outreached Arms, a Pittsburgh nonprofit.
The next Taize will take place on April 30, at 5 p.m. The quiet, contemplative service provides time for meditation and a pause in the busy pace of modern life.
Brendan’s Boots, the parish walking group, will explore the Wildflower Reserve at Raccoon Creek State Park on April 29. Carpools will leave from the church at 9 a.m. and lunch will follow the walk.
This month St. Brendan’s is collecting donations of liquid hand soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, body wash and other toiletries to support the North Hills Food Bank. Donations may be left in the church lobby.

Sticks & Strings, the church group that likes to knit, crochet or embroider, meets on the third Tuesday and first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the library.

The Kids’ Community Closet is a “free-cycle” community space to share kids’ clothes (birth through size 14/16). All clothing is free and in good, very gently used condition — some items still have tags on. There are no applications, income requirements, or donations necessary.
