PennDOT is hosting an open house Tuesday in Rostraver to offer details on the construction timeline and related traffic changes for its update of the Arnold City interchange on Interstate 70.

The meeting is set for 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rostraver Central fire hall, 1100 Fells Church Road. Doors will open no earlier than 5.

PennDOT representatives will be available to answer questions about the project plans, which have been finalized. Work is beginning this construction season.

Project manager Gary Ferrari recently told TribLive work this year will focus on the southern side of the interstate, including development of a five-leg roundabout that will connect the eastbound on- and off-ramps with Indian Hill and Finley roads. Merging lanes will be lengthened.

The project also includes widening the median and shoulders along a 1.75-mile stretch of I-70, from the bridge over the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad to a point 1.37 miles east of the interchange.

Work is expected to continue through September 2028. Golden Triangle Construction was awarded the general contract, at a cost of $88.75 million.

The interstate exit is to be relabeled for Fayette City/Finley Road instead of Arnold City.
