South Hills Chorale concert
South Hills Chorale presents Singin’ in the Neighborhood: Celebrating Pittsburgh’s Musical Legacy for two performances at Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park: 7 p.m. May 9 and 1 p.m. May 10. Tickets are $25 and available online or at the door. The group is also partnering with SHIM and the church to help those in need. Monetary or nonperishable food donations are requested.

Young entrepreneur art and craft fair
Bethel Park’s Independence Middle School PTO is hosting a young entrepreneur art and craft fair at the school on April 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Entry is free and arts, crafts, baked goods and food and drink will be available for purchase.
Farmers market
Bethel Park Farmers’ Market will open its 19th season on Tuesday, May 6 from 3-7 p.m. at the South Park VIP Parking Lot near the ice-skating rink located off of Corrigan Drive. The Market will run every Tuesday through Oct. 14, rain or shine.
The market generally features more than 50 full-season, partial or visiting vendors each week providing items such as seasonal produce, plants and flowers, meats, eggs, baked goods, wine, cheese, prepared foods, and food trucks as well as a variety of artisan items and pet products.
Musical entertainment for guests is also part of the experience along with cooking demos and classes on the horizon.
Additionally, No Cook Tuesdays offer a delicious array of take-home meals from a variety of popular area food trucks to eliminate the need to cook dinner.

Business fair
The South Park/Bethel Park/Castle Shannon Chamber of Commerce will host a business vendor fair on May 3 from noon-5 p.m. at the South Park Community Center, 2675 Brownsville Road. Local businesses will showcase their products and services. In addition, there will be giveaways, a fire engine, a food truck, kids’ art and temporary tattoos. Vendor spots are available for $35.

Job fair
The Municipality of Bethel Park, in collaboration with the Bethel Park Chamber of Commerce, will once again host a free job fair on April 26, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Bethel Park Community Center.
With more than 600 full-time, part-time and seasonal positions available from close to 30 employers, the event is a great opportunity for job seekers of all ages and skill levels to find work.
Space is still available for employers looking to participate, but spots are limited — sign up at www.bethelparkpa.gov/jobfair.
Job seekers can research companies attending at the link above and bring their resumes to be ready to interview on the spot.
“The local business community continues to face challenges in recruiting and retaining employees. This event serves as an effective platform to address those needs while creating meaningful employment opportunities for Bethel Park residents,” said Bethel Park Council President John Oakes.
Kindergarten registration
Kindergarten registration for the Bethel Park School District is now open online at www.bpsd.org. Required documents include proof of age, proof of residency and completed health forms. Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 1 to enroll.
Parents who have questions are encouraged to contact the school their child will be attending.
Artist market
South Arts Pittsburgh is hosting a two-day Artist Market May 3-4 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Schoolhouse Arts & History Center, 2600 South Park Road. The event includes an artists’ market with local vendors displaying/selling their artworks throughout the first floor, and South Arts members’ artwork for sale in one of the classrooms of the historic schoolhouse. Jewelry, cards and matted prints are also available. Cash, checks or credit cards are accepted. There will be a silent auction where you may bid on artwork — 75% of the money will go to the artist and 25% will go to the South Arts High School Scholarship Fund.
Reginald’s Coffee will be open to purchase coffee/tea. When you visit Reginald’s, be sure to check out South Arts members’ art exhibition in the lobby. Art is available for purchase and 10 percent of the sales will go to the Bethel Park Historical Society for their continued improvements to the historic Schoolhouse. Barnyard Beer Benefit
The Gilfillan Farm will host the annual Gilfillan Farm Barnyard Beer Benefit on May 24 with general admission hours from 6-10 p.m. Located at the corner of Route 19 and Orr Road, the event boasts an evening of craft beer and local food. All proceeds from the event go towards the preservation and restoration of Gilfillan Farm, a Registered National Historic Place.
In 2024, general admission tickets sold out in less than 5 minutes and the event raised more than $73,000.
The preliminary lineup includes beverages served by Altered Genius Brewing Company, Bold Rock Cider, Mondays Brewing Company, Recon Brewing, Sixpoint, Southern Tier Brewing Co. and Victory. Guests will enjoy a variety of fare from Bethel Bakery, Big Guys Pizza, Bigham Tavern and Emma’s Kafe.
