The chants of “sell the team” this past weekend at the Pirates games at PNC Park were disgraceful.

Sure, the decisions of Bob Nutting over the years of trading or hiring players grates on many fans. But while players are trying to win ballgames, this kind of noise — “sell the team” — is not helpful. It’s counterproductive and demeaning to the players.

Maybe this is the year that a winning team appears. It’s too soon to know. But support their efforts, don’t create distractions. It was said years ago that “class shows.” Are we a class fan base or not?

By the way, how do people without smartphones get their “bobbleheads”?
