INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 12-9) lost 5-1 in the first game of a doubleheader with St. Paul (Twins). RHP Thomas Harrington (0-1, 6.00) surrendered five runs on six hits, including a pair of two-run home runs, walked one and struck out four to suffer the loss. RHP Burch Smith (0.00) struck out three and RHP Hunter Stratton (6.30) fanned one as each pitched an inning of relief. The Indy bats were held to just six singles. RF Nick Solak (.400) was 2 for 4 with two singles and scored on a throwing error by St. Paul’s catcher on the first inning. CF Ji Hwan Bae (.260) was 1 for 3 with a base hit and a walk, 2B Nick Yorke (.239) was 1 for 2 with a pair of walks and a single and 3B Malcolm Nunez (.271) and LF Billy Cook (.194) each hit a single.
Indianapolis won the second game, 4-2. 1B DJ Stewart (.119) went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer, his third. C Abrahan Gutierrez (.333) went 2 for 3 with his first home run. SS Tsung-Che Cheng (.323) went 1 for 3 with a double. RHP Ryder Ryan (3.38) started and went 2⅓ innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on one hit and three walks. RHP Drake Fellows (2-0, 6.39) pitched three scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out five, to earn the win. RHP Isaac Mattson (1.93) worked 1⅔ scoreless innings with three strikeouts to pick up his first save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 9-8) beat Chesapeake (Orioles), 3-2. 3B Kevin Pichardo (.333) went 1 for 3 and hit a two-run home run in the first inning, his first of the year, and C Aaron McKeithan (.179) was 2 for 3 and broke a 2-2 tie with an RBI single in the eighth. 2B Termarr Johnson (.263) was 2 for 4 with a pair of singles, a walk and a run scored. SS Jack Brannigan (.259) went 3 for 5 with two singles and a double. RHP Wilber Dotel (2.50) started and went five shutout innings, giving up four hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. LHP Jaden Woods (3-1, 7.56) gave up three hits, including a two-run home run, and struck out one in two relief innings to get the win. RHP Justin Meis (2.79) struck out two and gave up a hit in two innings for the save.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 13-4) blasted Bowling Green (Rays) 6-1. 3B Javier Rivas (.355) was 2 for 4 with a pair of two-run home runs, his fifth and sixth homers on the year. 1B Omar Alfonzo (.259) went 2 for 3 with a pair of singles, a walk and was on base for both of Rivas’ dingers. SS Kalae Harrison (.083) singled and had a sac fly as he went 1 for 3 on the afternoon. 2B Jesus Castillo (.280) was 1 for 3 with a single and a walk. CF Lonnie White Jr. (.224) was 0 for 4 with a pair of strikeouts. Winning RHP Garrett McMillan (3-0, 1.77) went 5⅓ innings and gave up one run on six hits, walked one and struck out two. RHP Jack Carey (6.30) struck out three and gave up a hit and RHP Jaycob Deese (4.70) fanned two and allowed a hit as each threw an inning of relief.

DH Jhonny Severino (.200) went 2 for 4 with an RBI double and a single. 1B Derek Berg (.235) was 1 for 4 with a single and drove in a run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice.
