INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 12-11) shut out St. Paul (Twins), 10-0, in Game 1 of a doubleheader. RHP Bubba Chandler (1-0, 1.33) started and went five scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out four. RHP Eddy Yean (3.86) gave up two hits, walked one and fanned two in 1⅔ innings. CF Jack Suwinski (.667) went 2 for 3 with a solo home run, his first in Indy, an RBI single and a walk. 2B Nick Solak (.397) was 3 for 4 with a home run, his fourth, and a pair of singles. LF Ji Hwan Bae singled, walked, scored two runs and had three RBIs. 3B Malcom Nunez (.286) slapped two singles.

Indy was shut out, 3-0, in the second game, managing just two singles. Bae (.254) went 1 for 3 and LF Billy Cook (.194) went 1 for 3. LHP Nick Dombkowski (0-1, 2.45) started and went 3 ⅔ innings, allowing one run on three hits with one walk and five strikeouts. RHP Peter Strzelecki (10.80) threw 1⅓ scoreless innings.

LF Jase Bowen (.235) went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored. C Shawn Ross (.229) and RF Tres Gonzalez (.267) each went 1 for 4 with a double. RHP Po-Yu Chen (3.24) started and pitched five innings, allowing one run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts. RHP Valentin Linarez (3-1, 3.86) gave up one run on two hits and a walk in 1⅓ innings to take the loss. He fanned four.

LHP Connor Wietgrefe (2.45) started and went 3⅓ innings, giving up two runs on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts. RHP Carlos Jimenez (1-1, 8.00) was tagged for five runs on three hits and three walks in 1⅔ innings to take the loss.

RHPs Greiber Mendez (1-2, 8.74) and Tyler Kennedy (29.70) each allowed three runs and walked three. Mendez struck out four and took the loss. C Axiel Plaz (.302) went 1 for 4 with a two-run homer, his first of the year, and DH Konnor Griffin (.215) was 1 for 5 with a two-run home run, his third, and an RBI groundout. 3B Jhonny Severino (.248) went 3 for 4 with a double and a pair of singles. RF Joel Mendez (.256) was 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 14-4) used four pitchers to throw a five hit shutout and beat Bowling Green (Rays), 2-0. RHP Khristian Curtis (11.17) started and worked four innings with three hits, three walks and three strikeouts. LHP Blake Townsend (1-0, 1.54) struck out four and gave up one hit and one walk in three innings to earn the win. RHP Landon Tomkins (2.57) worked a perfect eighth and RHP Michael Walsh (4.15) gave up one hit in the ninth to earn his first save. 2B Duce Gourson (.232) went 1 for 4 with his first homer. CF Jesus Castillo (.296) went 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and his second stolen base. RF Esmerlyn Valdez (.377) went 2 for 4. C Omar Alfonzo (.274) was 2 for 4.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 6-12) won an 8-6 back-and-forth affair with Lakeland (Tigers) in 11 innings. SS Konnor Griffin (.217) laid down a sacrifice bunt and reached on a throwing error scoring RF Carlos Caro (.222). Griffin would score on an RBI single from 3B Ethan Lege (.300) as the Marauders scored twice in the top of the 11th. 1B Eddy Rodriguez (.216) was 1 for 3 with a two-run double and two walks. LF Braylon Bishop (.188) and SS Yordany De Los Santos (.234) each scored on wild pitches by Lakeland pitcher Luke Stofel. RHP Matt Ager (1.35) started for Bradenton and went 3 2/3 innings and gave up two hits, including a solo home run, walked a pair and struck out five. LHP Victor Cabreja (3.65) gave up two runs on four hits, walked two and struck out three in 2 2/3 innings. RHP Jose Garces (7.04) yielded three runs on three hits, walked a batter and fanned two in 2/3 of an inning. LHP Inmer Lobo (1-0, 1.38) struck out two and didn’t allow a hit in two shutout innings for the win.
