A number of municipal and school board races in the South Hills are uncontested for the May 20 primary election, according to the Allegheny County Office of Elections unofficial candidate list.

Baldwin Borough

The mayoral race in Baldwin Borough only has current Mayor David Depretis, a Democrat, on the ballot. There are no Republicans on the ballot for this race.

Baldwin Township

Two Democrats are running for two board of commissioners ballot spots in the November election — current board president Eileen Frisoli and board vice president Robert. D. Downey Jr. The terms are four years.

No one is on the Republican ticket.

Jefferson Hills

Republican and current Mayor Carrie Nuss-McCaffrey is the only mayoral candidate on the ballot for the Republican ticket. No Democrats are on the ballot in this election. Term in office is four years.

In the council race, four Republicans are seeking four ballot spots in November for four-year terms: current council president Melissa Girman-Steffey, newcomer Nicholas F. Horgan, councilwoman Diva Mares and council vice president Helen Kingsley-Budd. No Democrats are on the ballot.

Pleasant Hills

Mayor William D. Trimbath, a Republican, is unopposed on his party’s ticket for another term as mayor. There are no Democrats on the ballot for the four-year term.

Four Republicans are seeking four ballot spots in November: newcomer Stephen Harroun, incumbent Eileen Solinas, newcomer Darcy Lynn Vergallito and incumbent Jarrett Niecgorski.

Democrat newcomer Joseph M. Esper is the sole candidate on his party’s ballot.

Whitehall

Incumbent Mayor Jim Nowalk, a Democrat, is again seeking his party’s nomination for the November ballot.

Republican Chris Mooney is the only Republican on his party’s ballot.

In Whitehall’s council race, four Republicans are seeking four ballot spots: newcomers Julia Donohue, John Paravati and Jeremy Rose and incumbent Stone Sobieralski.
