Let us evaluate President Trump on the following four policy issues.

Regarding immigration, under President Biden, a good bill agreed upon by Democrats and Republicans ended up rejected by Senate Republicans due to pressure from Trump, who I believe wanted to garner credit for solving the issue once elected. Instead, we have the Gestapo-like tactics of Nazi Germany, as black-clad ICE agents drag foreigners and students off the streets of America. So un-American.

In foreign affairs, I think he’s alienated every nation on the planet. His haphazard tariffs, bragging takeover of other countries and threats to withdraw from democratic alliances have shocked the world.

The slashing of the government bureaucracy has been a nightmare. It needed to be done, but the tactics of Elon Musk and DOGE have been horrific. Was no planning put into this?

Finally, the roller-coaster tariffs he’s imposed have destroyed consumer confidence, caused prices to increase and may lead to a recession. Nobody can win a trade war.

Trump seemingly doesn’t think of the repercussions of his actions. One example will suffice. If China can’t sell its goods in the United States, what’s to prevent it from invading Taiwan and possibly starting World War III? Just as scary is his total disregard for Congress and the courts to do whatever he wants. In my view, his first 100 days have been a dictatorial disaster.
