Pittsburgh man turns himself in after firing gun near recreation center
A man who fired a gun Monday near Pittsburgh’s Brookline Recreation Center turned himself in to police, officials said.
Joseph Drewery, 35, of Pittsburgh faces charges of simple assault, discharging a firearm, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.
Officials said a fight broke out outside Brookline Recreation Center Monday evening before Drewery pulled out a gun and fired a shot. No one was injured.
Online court records show Drewery is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, unable to post a $25,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15.
1 taken to hospital after minivan crashes in Cranberry healthcare facility
One person was taken to the hospital and multiple others were injured Tuesday when a vehicle crashed into a Cranberry Township healthcare facility.
TribLive news partner WTAE reported a minivan crashed into the Allegheny Health Network Orthopedic facility along Route 19.
The driver was taken to a hospital and others suffered minor injuries, according to WTAE.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
Duquesne City School District bus crashes with students on board
No students were seriously injured when a bus of Duquesne City School District students crashed with another vehicle Tuesday afternoon, Superintendent Sue A. Mariani said.
Mariani said none of the students were seriously injured, but TribLive news partner WTAE reported at least one person involved in the wreck was taken to the hospital.
Two students were evaluated by medics at the scene, Mariani said.
She said the district is cooperating with police as they investigate the wreck.
“Safe transportation is a top priority, and we will continue to make every effort to keep our students safe going to and from school,” Mariani wrote in a letter to families.
