Voters in North Irwin and Irwin do not have contested races in the May 20 primary for either the Democratic or Republican nominations for seats on the two borough councils.
In Irwin, Republican incumbents Tyler Baum and Frank Rossi are seeking the GOP nomination for reelection to another four-year term. Fonda Dalbow and John Slivka Jr. are the other two Republicans seeking nominations for four seats. Cody Karch is the lone Democrat on the ballot for a nomination.
Irwin Mayor Jeff Clem, a Republican seeking his second term, has no opposition in the primary or the November election.
Lois Bennett, Irwin’s tax collector, does not have any opposition for the Democratic nomination and no Republican filed for the primary election.
Once again, North Irwin has openings on council for which no one wants to fill.
Two incumbent councilmen — Democrat Thomas Youngworth and Republican Robert Kennedy — are the only candidates seeking a nomination for four seats on the seven-member council.
No one is running to succeed Mayor John McIntyre and no one is running for tax collector.
