Congressman Reschenthaler,

Let’s address the substance, or lack thereof, in your canned replies. The constant finger-pointing at the previous administration is not only tired — it’s cowardly. The Trump administration was handed a stable economy, and in record time launched a reckless trade war that’s vaporized trillions in U.S. wealth. Tariffs may make for a good headline, but history shows what happens when you double down on protectionism: just ask the 1930s. Prices are going up for American families — not down — and any attempt to spin that as a win insults the intelligence of your constituents.

As for the much-hyped “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE): most of the so-called “waste” it uncovered has been thoroughly debunked or grossly distorted. Even if the numbers were accurate — which they’re not — they’re laughably short of the $2 trillion in cuts Donald Trump promised. In reality, federal spending this year is up, not down. So congratulations on creating a new bureaucracy that only added confusion and disruption — an impressive feat, even by this administration’s standards.

And please stop pretending the war in Ukraine started because of President Joe Biden. It started because Vladimir Putin is a dictator with imperial ambitions. Trump’s repeated promise to end the war “within 24 hours” of taking office? We’re well past that deadline. No peace, no progress — just empty talk.

Congressman, your constituents deserve more than auto-responses and partisan parroting. We deserve answers, accountability and action — not blame, bluster and bot emails.
