Get ready for an unforgettable summer at Allegheny RiverTrail Park! With stunning riverfront views, a jam-packed lineup of free concerts, public fishing docks, kayak rentals, community events, food trucks serving up local flavor, craft brews on tap, playgrounds for the littles, biking trails that hug the river, hammocks made for lounging, and sunsets that light up the sky — this is Pittsburgh’s Front Yard, reimagined.
The Community’s Front Yard
ARP began as a community initiative to preserve Pittsburgh’s riverfront. The park, now serving as the community’s front yard, is a riverfront destination for boaters, foodies, music lovers, cyclists, and more. Built by the community for the community, the 15-acre park uniquely remains an independent nonprofit funded by its users.
Introducing Friends of the Front Yard
After 14 incredible years, ARP is launching Friends of the Front Yard, a brand-new membership program designed to foster deeper connections and sustain the park’s growth. Becoming a member not only helps support park operations but also comes with exclusive perks, including access to special events, partner discounts, and fun welcome gifts.
Join today to be part of the park’s next chapter and ensure its continued success for years to come.
Bigger and Better: The Summer Concert Series
The highly anticipated Free Summer Concert Series is back with an even bigger boom! Thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Short family, ARP hosts monthly outdoor concerts from June to September that bring the community together under the summer sky. With the park’s expansion of eight additional acres in 2024, the event has grown significantly, drawing thousands of music lovers to enjoy performances both on land and in the Allegheny River itself!
Whether you’re a longtime attendee or a first-time visitor, this season’s lineup promises unforgettable evenings of live music and family-friendly fun.
Family Friendly Happy Hours at ARP
What are you doing every Friday from now until October? When you’re not jamming out on the lawn at ARP’s Summer Concerts, you can still find food, beer, and a safe place for little ones to play right on the river.
This summer, ARP is continuing their weekly Friday evening happy hours with Food Truck Fridays. Trace Brewing, a park partner, will be at the docks alongside alternating food trucks. With various entertainment pop-ups, trails, hammocks, cornhole, a playground, and riverfront views, there are many ways for fun to be had at the park. And for all ages, too.
The More the Merrier: More Summertime Programming
Allegheny RiverTrail Park will be alive with public gatherings and private celebrations all summer long. Kicking off in June, ARP is hosting RiverTrail Rec Day. Last year’s event brought people of all ages together for a day of kayaking, playing, and even climbing a rock wall!
From graduation parties and weddings to milestone celebrations, ARP’s beautiful riverfront spaces will be in full swing. With a variety of rental options and all event coordination now managed in-house, hosting your next big moment at the park has never been simpler.
Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic of Summer at Allegheny RiverTrail Park. Whether you’re dancing to live music, savoring local bites, or just taking in the stunning riverside views, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
We’ll see you at the park!
