PennDOT is looking to improve traffic safety in Jeannette by providing motorists advance warning to stop at the intersection of Lewis Avenue and Park Street.
Plans call for crews to install a flashing beacon to alert approaching drivers of an all-way stop at the intersection.
Work is expected to take place between spring and fall 2026, with flaggers controlling traffic during single-lane closures.
A similar beacon project is slated during the same time frame at Bebout Road and Bower Hill Road/Froebe Road in Peters Township, Washington County.
PennDOT is displaying virtual plans for the project and is accepting public comments online through May 19.
