Three assists by Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby helped Canada rout Latvia, 7-1, in a preliminary round game in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) World Championship tournament at Avicii Arena in Stockholm on Sunday.
Opening the contest as Canada’s second-line center, Crosby was 7 for 12 (58.3%) on faceoffs while logging 17:09 of ice time on 21 shifts.
Former Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury recorded the win by stopping 16 of 17 shots.

Utah Mammoth forward Logan Cooley, a native of West Mifflin, had a goal and an assist for the United States which shut out Hungary, 6-0, at the Jyske Bank Boxen arena in Herning, Denmark.
Starting play as the United States’ top-line center, Cooley recorded one shot and was 14 for 15 (86.6%) on faceoffs while logging 15:56 of ice time on 18 shifts.
