Philip Dean Babinsack, also known as "Boxer", 73, of Buffalo Township, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024. Born on Dec. 21, 1950, in Natrona Heights, he was the sixth child of Richard F. Babinsack and Blanche (Booher) Babinsack Baughman. Philip graduated from Freeport Senior High School, class of 1970. Throughout his career, he has worked at Montgomery Lumber, Allegheny and Freeport Brick, and Woodings Consolidated Industry. Boxer was a member of the Lighthouse Fellowship Church, where he enjoyed Soup Sunday and sharing his famous chili. He enjoyed ice skating, swimming, croquet, and archery. Boxer met the love of his life, Tina Kim Rowan, at the age of 12, they spent 55 years of marriage together. Boxer is survived by his wife, Tina Kim (Rowan) Babinsack; and his four daughters, Lisa (Mike) Cox, of Ford City, Wendy (Kurt) Fischer, of Freeport, Philana (Steve) Samms, of Moon Township, and Amanda (Dale) Heeter, of Buffalo Township. Boxer was also blessed with 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also, he is survived by his siblings, Glenn Babinsack, Janice Gaydos, and David (Roxanne) Babinsack; and numerous nieces and nephews. Boxer was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Babinsack and Blanch Babinsack Baughman; and three brothers, Richard Babinsack, Michael Babinsack, and Joseph Babinsack. Boxer was a gentle giant and was loved by all who knew him. May you rest in peace in heaven. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC., 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Shick officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
