Golf outing to aid Apollo-Ridge scholarship fund

A golf outing to benefit the Erin Toland Boyer Memorial Scholarship fund will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Apollo Elks Country Club, Kiski Township.

Cost is $100 per golfer. The scholarship is awarded yearly to a graduating female Apollo-Ridge High School student who is pursuing an education in life sciences, chemistry, biology, health sciences or a related field. Donations are welcome at gofund.me/2da8a1cf.

Burrell HS marching band to host annual car show

The Burrell High School Marching Band car and motorcycle show will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the high school, 1021 Puckety Church Road, Lower Burrell.

Vehicle entry fee is $10 and admission is free for spectators. There will be food, a basket raffle, DJ and 50-50. Proceeds will benefit the band.


Sponsorship opportunities available at Champion’s Crusaiders Rescue

Champion’s Crusaiders Rescue in Parks Township offers a sponsorship program for people who can’t adopt or foster an animal at the shelter but would still like to help until a forever home is found.

For $25, $30 or $40 per month – or whatever you are able to give – animals can be sponsored until they are adopted. Sponsors receive a monthly update on their furry friend and a special letter when they are adopted.
