Gilfillan Farm is a premier property of the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair. John Gilfillan built the house in 1855-57, and family members lived there until the passing of Margaret Gilfillan in 2001.

Margaret left the property and buildings with the direction that the farm be used to “educate the public as to life on a traditional farm in Pennsylvania” and that HSUSC “utilize the property as an appropriate historical, cultural or educational center and landmark.”

It is HSUSC’s mission to operate, restore and preserve this registered National Historic Place that is now home to Horses with Hope Therapeutic Riding Center.
