Barbara (Marton) Urban, 88, Formerly of North Braddock, passed away in Warrendale on Sept. 20, 2024, surrounded by her children, after a courageous year-long battle, with lung cancer. She grew up in North Braddock, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Polasko) Marton and was a 1954 graduate of Scott High School. Barb had a zest for life and enjoyed her family and friends immensely. She was always able to support herself, after being widowed at age 48 and never asked 'why me' after getting her cancer diagnosis. Her faith was strong and she was ready to go to heaven. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded, in death by her husband of 28 years, Michael G Urban; a sister, Betty (Marton) Borowski; and later life companions, Joseph Palopoli and Richard DeFazio. She is survived by a sister, Judy (Marton) Dibattista; her son, Michael Urban and his wife, Marilyn (Bernath); her daughter, Roseann Kuzins and her husband, Ken; and her son, Steven; her six grandchildren; Amanda (Kuzins) Robbins and her husband, Scott; Amy (Kuzins) Wolfe and her husband Chas; Marla (Urban) Dibuo and her husband Brandon; Alaina (Kuzins) Riddle and her husband, Adam, Miles Urban and his wife, Leah (Emanuele); Alyssa Kuzins; and her 'adopted' granddaughter, Kassady Cardamone. She also has three great-grandchildren, Liam Stravers and Grant and Serena DiBuo. She was expecting a fourth great-grandchild in December. A celebration of life service for Barbara will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 400 Barclay Ave., Pittsburgh, 15221, on Oct. 5, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
