Pittsburgh Brewing officials are hoping Saturday’s stormy weather outlook will be “Nothin’ But a Breeze” as plans march on for the inaugural Jimmy Buffett tribute concert at the East Deer site.

“We are moving forward with having the concert and festivities,” brewery spokeswoman Rachel Semelbauer said Friday. “We are expecting close to 3,000 people. We have the local police enforcement and Bramlet Security patrolling the area and helping with traffic, along with other parking attendees and volunteers.”

Changes in Latitudes, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will kick off the brewery’s concert series as scheduled Saturday at the amphitheater. The event will feature several food vendors, a mobile cigar bar, giveaways and a best-dressed Parrot Head contest with a big prize.

There was some discussion on social media Thursday about possibly postponing the concert because of the gloomy forecast.

On Friday, the company posted to Facebook: “What would Jimmy Buffett do? He would say the show must go on! We will see you all tomorrow!”

TribLive news partner WTAE predicts an 80% chance of precipitation and thunderstorms Saturday. Jared Rackley, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service based in Moon Township, said there is a chance of heavy rain and severe thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening in the East Deer area.

From 1 to 4 p.m., a VIP poolside party will occur at the front portion of the property, closest to Freeport Road. The pre-show event boasts a DJ, tiki bar and more.

The concert will take place at the back portion of the property, near the Allegheny River.

Opening act John McDonald & the Mango Men will take the stage from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by Lenny Collini from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Changes in Lattitude is scheduled to perform at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will cap the evening at 10:30 p.m.

“There will be plenty of food and beverages for all to enjoy along with an ice luge and hundreds of beach balls,” Semelbauer said. “Tickets are (general admission) and guests are allowed to bring their own chairs and blankets.”

On July 6, the brewery will host Zoso, a Led Zeppelin tribute band, and The Soft Parade, a Doors tribute band. That event will include a fundraiser for local police dog units and departments.

Cole Swindell, a country music star, will headline the brewery’s summer concert series Sept. 1.
