Leona J. Kranik, 82, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Sept. 17, after a brief illness. She was born in Natrona Heights on March 7, 1942, to the late Stanley and Stella Sadowski Kuszkowski. She was a lifelong resident of the local area. Leona was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell. Her numerous jobs included Pennex Manufacturing and W. L. Roenigk. The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Leona, always a positive light. She enjoyed social gatherings and vacations with great friends and family. She especially enjoyed going to Florida. She was a loving wife, mother, nana, and friend. Leona is survived by her son, John F. (Jennifer) Kranik of West Deer; daughter, Jacqueline Kusenko (Paul Zavarella) of Plum; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Kranik, Chad (Carra) Kusenko, and Dylan Kusenko. In addition to her parents and brother, Richard Kuszkowski; she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. (Babe) Kranik. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m., Monday, followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Margaret Mary Church.
