A motorcyclist was in critical condition Friday following a vehicle collision in Pittsburgh’s Hays neighborhood.
Initial investigation indicated that the driver of the other vehicle ran a red light while under the influence, Pittsburgh police said, and charges are forthcoming.
Police, fire and EMS were dispatched at about 9:45 p.m. Friday to Glass Run Road at Baldwin Road in Hays.
Responders found the motorcycle driver, a man, on the roadway — with significant injuries, police said. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and was taken “immediately” into surgery.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, police said. Police did not immediately release the name of either driver.
