Frances A. Hoffman, 82, of White Oak, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024. Born June 28, 1942, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the late Ronald F. and Marguerite J. Coyne Shephard. She was an LPN for approximately 30 years in behavioral health. She loved gardening, birdwatching, and traveling. Frances is survived by her husband, James 'Jim' Hoffman of Monroeville; daughters, Laura A. (Ronald) Martin of Pitcarin, Ellen M. (Marty Urick) Garia of Verona, and Susan J. Garia of Level Green; grandchildren, Fred (Kate) Hartz, Maria (Jae) Urick, Joseph (Shanelle) Garia, Michael Urick, Sean (Mercedes) Martin, and Alexis (Jake) Garia; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that she loved. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her brother, James Shephard; and granddaughter, Amanda Garia. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
