Russell Edward Lenhardt, 86, of Natrona Heights, PA, passed away on Sept. 19, 2024. Born in Meadville, PA, on Jan. 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Loring Peter and Margaret Alice (Tobin) Lenhardt. Russell is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Katherine (Smith) Lenhardt, whom he married on Sept. 23, 1961, at St. Ursula Catholic Church in Allison Park, PA. He was a devoted father to his six children, Ross (Alisa) Lenhardt, Renae (Kris) Macurdy, Lorne (Susan) Lenhardt, Roy (Melanie) Lenhardt, Nicola (Rich) Miller, and Nanette Lenhardt Dillon. He was a proud "Pap Pap" to his 15 grandchildren, Bo, Allison, and Paige Lenhardt, Cody (Annie) and Brandi (Ryan) Macurdy, Kassandra Lenhardt, Brooke and Kenley Lenhardt, Ryan, Alyssa, and Ashley Miller, Makayla (Domenic) Godshall, Keegan, Brody, and Riley Dillon. Russell is also survived by his siblings, Thomas (Beth) Lenhardt and Kay (Donald) Lenhardt Poeth. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Lenhardt; and his sister, Alice Lenhardt Kellar. A first-generation college graduate, Russell attended Case Institute of Technology (now Case Western Reserve University) and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. He enjoyed a 35 year career at PPG in the Glass Division as Chief Quality Control Engineer, living in four different locations and making lifelong friends and colleagues along the way. Russ had a zest for life and a deep passion for his family. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, playing cards, and socializing with friends and loved ones. He was a Cub Scout leader, lector, and blood donor, as well as a member of the Moose Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the OSSNFC. Though Russ adored his grandkids, affectionately calling them his 'Turkey Cheese Balls,' he often said his greatest accomplishment was "conning Oma into marrying him." Whether you knew him as Russ, Dad, or Pap Pap, he loved you dearly and is sending a bear hug from heaven. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights 724-224-8688.
