McKeesport Hospital Foundation celebrated the 25th anniversary of its fashion show fundraiser with a “Simply Silver theme that brought elegance and shine to the 2015 UPMC McKeesport Invitational. UPMC McKeesport staff and supporters modeled sporty and stylish activewear from Dick's Sporting Goods in the Waterfront, modern casual wear from Kohl's in Century III, and timeless formalwear from the Exquisite Bride in Murrysville. Mark Sevco, president of UPMC McKeesport, reflected on last year's fashion show, which was part of his first Invitational experience. “Last year, when I had just started in my position, I came to this event and was so impressed, he said. “Now that I have a year under my belt, UPMC McKeesport exceeded my expectations. Sevco spoke highly of the hospital staff and volunteers, as well as the Foundation, which is responsible for charitable donations that have been used to beautify hospital grounds and upgrade equipment. “They work hard to raise money for the hospital and community events, Sevco said. Foundation executive director Eliana R. Latterman thanked the “innumerable individuals and groups that have made (the Invitational fashion show) a reality. She praised fashion show co-chairs Judy Haliko and Joyce Krut for booking a high-class event with stunning silver and black centerpieces, Chicken Veronique in a champagne sauce, and talented jazz musicians, who set the mood on the runway. This year's Invitational included the 25th annual Tennis Event on Sunday at The Club in Monroeville and 38th annual golf event and dinner on Monday at Youghiogheny Country Club. Latterman thanked sponsors of the events for their generous contributions that allow the Foundation to support community health. Jennifer R. Vertullo is a contributing writer for Trib Total Media.
