Rose M. Sazalsky, 95, of Vandergrift, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, in the QLS West Haven, Apollo. Born March 29, 1929, in Vandergrift, she is the daughter of the late Domenick and Mary Perry Grande. Rose had been employed by the Kiski Area School District as a cafeteria worker 23 years prior to retiring in 2002. A member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church in Vandergrift, she enjoyed cooking family meals for the holidays and taking care of her family. Survivors include her son, James S. Sazalsky and his partner, Theodore H. Brocious, of Washington Township. Her sister, Joanne (William) Johnson of Vandergrift. Daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Tom) Heinz, of New Strawn, KS. Three grandchildren, Caroline (Thomas) Hart, Stephen (Tiffany) Sazalsky, and Francine (Michael) Garrone; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Sazalsky, in 2013; and her son, Francis D. Sazalsky, in 2008. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, in the DUNMIRE-KERR AND ROWE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, 303 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift, with Fr. Alan N. Polczynski as celebrant.
