Zora P. Kurp, 101, of Murrysville, a native of Rankin, died at Redstone Highlands on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024. Zora was the beloved wife of the late Leo J. Kurp for 35 years. She was the loving mother of Maryan (late William) Baughman of OH, Robert (Maureen) Kurp of North Huntingdon, and Patricia Kurp of Penn Township. Zora is survived by grandchildren, including Amy (Kevin Lloyd) Baughman, Christopher (Angela) Baughman, Lauren Kurp, Justin (Bethany) Kurp, and Maura Kurp. Also surviving are her nine great-grandchildren, William, Patrick, and Matthew Lloyd, Ryan, Rachel, and Jennifer Baughman, Carson, Avery, and Nolan. Zora was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Frank Kolenac. At age 19, after graduation from Rankin High School, Zora landed her first job as a secretary for the Rankin Schools. When Maryan was born, her work career was put on hold until her family was grown. She then continued her career as a secretary at various places, finally at Carnegie Mellon University. Zora never had a driver's license, but even as a widow of 41 years, she maintained her independence by mastering public transportation and the Access program. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, in Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville. Zora will be laid to rest in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
