Plans for a Tractor Supply store in Lower Burrell took a step forward.
The city’s planning commission approved a subdivision for a Tractor Supply to be located off Greensburg Road, in the Kinloch section of Lower Burrell.
The location, 108 Greensburg Road, is a vacant, wooded lot next to a Family Dollar store and near the road’s intersection with Logans Ferry Road. It is zoned for commercial use.
“The plan that they brought to us was very well-presented,” said Ray Rieser, chairman of the planning commission. “The information was all that was requested by the city. … There was no reason not to approve it.”
The subdivision approval was the first step in the process to make way for the store, said Mark Marmo, the city’s zoning officer.
The property needed to be subdivided before the site plan could be considered by city officials, Marmo said. He was not sure when Tractor Supply officials would be submitting that plan.
A Tractor Supply representative previously said the company plans to open the Lower Burrell store in November 2025.
Tractor Supply representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.
A national chain, Tractor Supply sells products include clothing, equine and pet supplies, tractor or trailer parts and accessories, lawn and garden supplies, power tools, fencing and mowers.
Among its nearest locations are Harrison, Kittanning, Murrysville and Richland.
