BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - The Butte College Roadrunners have their first game of the season this Saturday, September 7. We spoke to head coach Robby Snelling, and he said he is excited for the season opener. Why shouldn’t he be? He’s confident because he’s prepared. Like any first game of the season, there will be bugs teams will have to address. Jitters players will learn to eventually calm down, and soon teams like Butte will settle in, but a first look is exciting and helpful. For coach Snelling and his staff, this is the first time that they will get the chance to see how their players react in real-game scenarios. This game will tell them a lot they need to know heading into week two. Butte's first opponent of the season is Reedley, a team the Roadrunners got the best of and won the Northern California Bowl last year. Results that Coach Snelling would like to have repeated this year. The Roadrunners' home opener is on September 14 against the Laney Eagles at 1 p.m. Browser CompatibilityYour browser is out of date and potentially vulnerable to security risks.
