The Reverend Thomas Burke performed the ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Paul and Judy Mehalik of Indiana, PA. The groom is the son of Robert and Leah Melvin of Baldwin. Grandmother of the groom is Adrienne Maist of Whitehall. An evening reception followed at The Sheraton, Station Square, Pittsburgh, for 240 guests. Nicholas graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering in 2015 and is currently employed at Nicholson Construction located in Southpointe, Pittsburgh, as a Project Manager/Estimator. Katie also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where their story began, with a Bachelors degree in Biology. She then went on to receive her doctorate in Optometry from Salus University. Dr. Katherine Mehalik Melvin is currently practicing at Bittel Vision, Caste Village, Pittsburgh.
