H The Municipality of PENN HILLS A HOME RULE COMMUNITY CONGRATULATIONS! To our two new members of Council, I say what my aunt used to say to first-time guests in her home: "Welcome! We're all a little quirky here you'll fit right in." - On January 5th, Kimberly Refosco and Ian T. Cartwright took the Oath of Office and were sworn in as the two newest members of the Penn Hills Council. Mayor Pauline Calabrese appointed Kimberly Refosco as the Deputy Mayor, with unanimous consent of Council. Deputy Mayor Refosco is a high school teacher and a nonprofit community leader. She studied Political Science and Spanish at the University of Pittsburgh and earned her master's in education from Franciscan University. When not in the classroom, she serves as a community leader for several nonprofit outdoor organizations and partners with businesses to help remove the barriers that can prevent people from accessing and enjoying the outdoors. Councilman Ian T. Cartwright is a project manager of twenty years with a background in strategic planning. As a project manager, his work requires him to work within a team to identify goals, outline a strategy, define tactics, control the budget, and to work closely with subject matter experts in effort to put that plan into practice. He firmly believes this approach can help bring greater structure, efficiency, and insight to the governance of Penn Hills. M pality ome Ruie Thank you for your service and welcome aboard!
