Mayor's Message By Mayor Pauline Calabrese The Holiday Season is upon us and we in Penn Hills have much to celebrate! As we approach the end of the year and we work on our annual budget, we end with: A Balanced Budget. No Tax Increase No Cuts in Service Bond Rating of A+ Fund balance of $14 Million!!! We in Penn Hills have turned this ship around! As we look back, we can be proud that S&P has raised our bond rating to A+ and states that Penn Hills has a "Positive Outlook." Because of this, we can rest easy every night and then in the morning go about our daily business, with a higher quality of life. Public Safety - We have put more police officers on the road, with a fully staffed police department, infused funds into our Fire Departments and updated our EMS department with new emergency vehicles. Public Health - We have been steadily updating our sewer system to ensure public health and provide clean water, as well as updating and automating trash collection, bringing our technology in line with our neighbors in the surrounding communities. Infrastructure - Throughout Penn Hills, roads and bridges have been repaired or replaced, our street lights are being updated in an ongoing project, and our entryways are being beautified. Family Fun - We have 10 parks throughout Penn Hills, including a dog park and a skate park, Community Centers, Neighborhood Playgrounds, and two Senior Centers.
