Since 2016, Aspinwall has undertaken projects to maintain and improve the Borough. Between 2013 and 2024, the Borough has matched over $1 million for infrastructure repairs, amenity improvements and sewer line updates. The Borough invested $374,000 in Fireman's Park and the 5th Street Playground. These parks were renovated and/or rehabilitated with monies from Greenways, Trails and Recreation grants as well as Community Financing Authority grants. Most recently, the Borough received $100,000 from PA DCNR to reconstruct a pickleball court and a multi-use court at the athletic field. The Borough and Neighborhood Pickleball contributed $150,000 toward the cost. Aspinwall Borough completed sewer line updates with funds from ALCOSAN Grow Grants and CITF JULY 24 Aspinwall Alley Bash End the Day in Alley A 5PM to 8PM funds. Storm sewer separations were completed on Eastern Ave, Center Ave and Western Ave. Permeable pavers were installed in Alley A from Western Ave to Brilliant Ave as part of the DEP Consent Order. So far, the Borough has removed 11.8 MG per/year of water from the sewer system, drastically reducing flooding and backups. The borough also installed water valves and replaced the water main and sewer main on the 100 block of Second Street. The borough has submitted multiple grant applications for water infrastructure improvements, pedestrian and bike safety on Freeport Road and a feasibility study for an observation deck at Fireman's Park.
