Though only a third of a square mile, Aspinwall continued to show how much a small town can accomplish when residents, volunteers, staff, and elected officials all work together. GH Infrastructure remained a major focus throughout the year. Work advanced on Delafield Road, beginning near Freeport Road and progressing toward the upper block, bringing long-needed repairs to one of the Borough's busiest corridors. The 5th Street Wall project also moved forward, with engineering refinements and a re-bid process designed to attract more competitive contractors in early 2026. These improvements reflect the Borough's commitment to maintaining safe, reliable streets and hillside infrastructure for years to come. Recreation and public spaces saw renewed attention as well. The Borough advanced planning for improvements at Aspinwall Community Park and continued work toward building new pickleball and multi-use courts to replace aging surfaces. These upgrades are designed to create a more accessible, inclusive, and modern recreation hub for families, athletes, and community groups. Continued investment in landscaping, field maintenance, and street-tree management also helped preserve the Borough's charm and environmental health. Financial stewardship continued to guide Borough operations behind the scenes. Council and staff focused on maintaining a balanced budget, pursuing grant opportunities, and planning long-term capital improvements without placing additional burden on taxpayers. These efforts supported ongoing projects while ensuring stability for future initiatives. As Aspinwall steps into 2026, major projects, park improvements, and public-safety initiatives are poised to move forward. But above all, the Borough carries with it the same strength that has defined 2025: a community that consistently shows up for one another, takes pride in its neighborhoods, and works together to keep Aspinwall a welcoming place to live, work, and visit.
